Barbara J. Broshous

Barb has been a committed quilter for over 25 years, and has been an NQA- certified quilt judge since 1999. She has won numerous awards for her quilting; and she and her work have been featured in several national quilting magazines, among them American Quilter, American Patchwork & Quilting, Quilting Today, and Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine.

Barb has a passion for appliqué, especially dimensional floral work. She has developed a technique to pre-quilt her wall hanging backgrounds and then attaches completed dimensional flowers. Her classes are very popular with quilters of all skill levels.

Barb has judged and taught classes throughout the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil. While in Brazil she taught a three-day judging course and helped establish a quilt-judging program for their national quilting association. She co-signed the diplomas of the first 20 certified quilt judges in Brazil!” The summer of 2010, she judged the Vermont Quilt Festival, Quilt Colorado 2010, The Hoffman Challenge, Colorado State Fair, and five other Colorado county fairs.


Elizabeth Spannring
La Center, WA

Elizabeth has been actively involved with quilting since 1992. In 2002 she judged her first quilt show and has judged over 50 quilt competitions throughout the U.S. and Canada. She holds judging certifications with the National Quilting Association and the Canadian Quilters Association / ACC. Elizabeth feels her experience as a competition quiltmaker and an international quilt instructor have helped her to stay up-to-date with the new methods and techniques of today's quilt artists. While evaluating a quilt her objective is to encourage the quilter to improve and expand their artistry, creativity and expertise in their preferred medium.
