309 Sew Precise Machine Binding -- 2 Hour Hands On, $35.00
If you machine quilt, why not machine bind? Suzanne believed there had to be a way to apply a beautiful machine binding. She didn't like the blind-hem and decorative stitching methods taught by many, and she didn't have time to hand stitch. After years of searching, she developed a technique to create a tight, 1/4 inch binding by machine. Discover this amazing technique to finish your quilts quickly and easily. Two other innovative machine bindings, including a beautiful double binding will also be shown. Learn to create perfectly mitered corners and an easy, lumpless finish. Bind a small quilt in class.

Supplies Needed:

· A small quilt to bind (no curved edges).

· Strips of binding fabric 2 1/8" wide (Do not join strips together. To find number of strips to cut, multiply 2 x (length + width of quilt). Add 24". Divide by 40 and round up to a whole number. Cut this number of strips.).

· Sewing machine in good working order with manual and all feet (Walking foot isn't mandatory, but strongly suggested. Edge-joining presser foot. Pfaff owners use a narrow edge foot. Bernina owners use #10 foot.).

· 5-groove pintuck/cording foot (works best) or an appliqué foot (this foot has a narrow centered groove underneath, like a pintuck foot).

· Basic sewing supplies (scissors to cut threads, seam ripper, bobbins, etc.).

· Small rotary ruler.

· Pins (fine-shaft suggested)

· One hand-sewing needle.

· Fabric marker (#2 pencil, chalk pencil, blue water-soluble pen, etc. that will show on your binding fabric).
